スラッシュドットで既に話題になってますが、エプソンダイレクトがLinux PCを発売したそうで。
Turbolinuxによるプレスリリースも出てますが、プリインストールされているのはTurbolinux 10 Desktop Basic(通常の10 Desktopからいくつかのパッケージが省略されたもの)とのことです。マイクロタワー型の方は最小構成で税込5万円ちょい、ハードウェアのほうもPentium4積んでたりして、なかなかですね。
普通に考えたらやっぱり弊社の(以下略)。 あと、スラドでも弊社のことは全然話題に(略)。
……気を取り直しまして。
弊社としては、価格や性能で売っていくのではなく、ましてやデザインでもなく、「自由であること」を何よりの商品価値にしていきたいと考えています。ディストリビューションがDebian GNU/Linuxなのもそのためですね。
また、弊社のLinux PCを一つの窓口にして、より深くオープンソースの世界に挑戦していただきたいという考えもあります。このサイト(DESKTOP.Good-Day.net)についても、販売サイトとしてのみ運営するのではなく、how to的なサポートやオープンソースな世界の方々へのインタビュー記事などを通じて、オープンソースという潮流に興味をお持ちの皆さんへ情報提供をしていきたいというのが、私たちの狙いです。
ということですので、弊社のLinux PCには興味無いよという方も、当サイト的には歓迎ですよと。(なんか話が全然違う方向に……)
